The improvements, which include a cardio area and new equipment, will lead to a late January reopening for the Arlington Heights facility.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Work has begun on a $1 million renovation project at the Northwest Community Healthcare Wellness Center that will add more space and equipment to the facility, according to the Daily Herald. The improvements will be implemented in three parts and lead up to a grand reopening in late January. The center will remain open while the work is being done.
Overall, 100 new pieces of equipment will be added, and the center's training area will expand by 5,000 square feet, the report stated. An additional 93 parking spaces also will be created at the facility, 900 W. Central Road, the report added.
The first phase of renovations, which began Oct. 30, will create a new cardio area out of an existing basketball court, while a new training area will be built in the second phase, the report stated. Updating the facility's strength area will be part of the final phase, the report added.
