Part Of Thomas Road Closed For Construction Through September
The area from Belmont Avenue to Dryden Avenue will be completely closed while officials replace a water main and resurface the road
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A water main replacement project will close Thomas Road from Belmont to Dryden Avenue for just under two months, village officials announced Thursday.
Replacement and road resurfacing construction is set to begin on July 21 and end Sept. 17. Residents can anticipate the area being closed 24/7 during that time, with a detour provided using Olive Street.
Public Works Director Scott Shirley said the project won't cause much of a slowdown for traffic and will only slightly affect Thomas Middle School's pickup and drop-off procedures when it reopens in August. The school has been informed and is letting parents and guardians know, he said.
