Restaurant Closing Following 'Unforgettable Journey' In Downtown Mount Prospect
The owners indicate that operations will expand at a Park Ridge location following the closure.
MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — Nearing a two-year anniversary in downtown Mount Prospect in a few months, the owners of Patina Wine Bar Mt. Prospect have decided to shut down the restaurant. Opened at 133 W. Prospect Ave. in April 2024, the business will officially close its doors on Thursday.
A second location, which opened the previous year in Park Ridge, will expand operations.
"To everyone who supported us in Mt. Prospect: thank you for being part of our story," owners Carissa Shaffer and Tim Arifi said in a social media post Saturday. "We hope you'll continue the journey with us in Park Ridge and let us raise many more glasses together."

Beginning next week, the owners said the Park Ridge restaurant will expand its hours to seven days a week, serving lunch/brunch and dinner. Catering and the private events program will also grow, according to the owners.
"Since we first opened, Patina Mt. Prospect has grown into something bigger than walls and tables," the post continues. "It became a community, a gathering place, and a family. And that spirit isn’t ending — it’s continuing just a few miles away."
