Schaumburg Psychiatrist Accused Of Inappropriately Touching Young Patient

The state has temporarily suspended the license of Dr. Blaise Wolfrum while he awaits a hearing later this month.

SCHAUMBURG, IL — A state regulation agency has temporarily suspended the medical license of a Schaumburg psychiatrist who specializes in addiction medicine and called him a danger to the public following allegations that he inappropriately touched a young female patient, according to WGN-TV. Dr. Blaise Wolfrum also is accused of violating rules for prescribing controlled substances. But the doctor claims regulators haven't talked to him and don't have all the information, the report added.

Wolfrum, the medical director for Behavioral Health Associates, is accused of inappropriately massaging a patient's midriff, knees and hands, the report stated. At the end of the patient's appointments, he also would allegedly hugged her for an uncomfortably long time, the report added.

In treating a long-time patient with a drug addiction, Wolfrum, who has been in practice for more than three decades, allegedly prescribed that individual controlled substances, according to report. Wolfrum told WGN that the state hasn't questioned him about the accusations, and he says his actions were taken out of context. He also said regulators haven't seen his complete records that document his work treating patients with drug and alcohol problems.

A hearing for Wolfrum is set for later this month, the report added.
