School Bus Slams Into Elk Grove Village Home After Crash With Car

No one was hurt in the Thursday morning accident, and police are investigating the cause.

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL — A crash between a car and a school bus Thursday morning sent the bus into the side of an Elk Grove Village home, causing extensive damage to the bus and home. No one was hurt in the accident, and the driver was the only person on the bus, according to the Daily Herald.

The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. near Holly Lane and Landmeier Road, the report stated. One of the five people home at the time was pushed across the room on her bed when the bus slammed into the wall, the report added. She wasn't hurt, and neither were the four other adults and one child also in the house.

Elk Grove Village police are investigating what caused the bus — run by First Student — and the car to initially crash, the report stated. The bus was traveling north on Holly when the eastbound car hit it as it crossed Landmeier, the report added. No has been cited in the accident.
