Secure status for a school means no one is allowed to enter or leave the school temporarily, but activities inside remain normal. Mead Junior High School, Link School and Stevenson School in Elk Grove Village were also in secure status, according to police. Schaumburg police said all the schools have been notified and that a secure status is no longer necessary.
