Stranger Followed Girl To School, Offered Her A Ride: Officials

The parent of a Prospect Heights High student say a man followed her in a car and offered her a ride as she walked near Windsor School.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Police are investigating reports of a man in a car who followed a Prospect Heights High School student as she walked to an elementary school and asked her if she wanted a ride. He continued to follow her after she declined.

Windsor Elementary School Principal Shelley Fabrizio emailed parents to tell them that girl's parent reported the incident to Arlington Heights police Wednesday. She urged parents to talk to their children about "Stranger Danger" and report such incidents to adults and police, the Arlington Heights Post reported.

The student was walking on South Phelps Avenue from the high school to Windsor Elementary at about 3:55 p.m.when a man in a two-door hatchback drove by her "eight or nine" times. He stopped and asked her if she wanted a ride, then continued to follow her for a few more blocks.
