Trash Pick Up Delayed, Recycling Postponed In Arlington

There's no recycling pick up this week in Arlington, and garbage collection is delayed one day as handlers try to manage in the brutal cold.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Trash pick up in Arlington Heights will be delayed one day and recycling collection for single-family homes will be postponed until next week, a village spokeswoman said. The village's contracted waste hauler, Groot, made the announcement Wednesday.

Because of the extreme cold, pick up for residents whose regular garbage and recycling days are Thursday will have their garbage only picked up on Friday. For those who have both collected on Friday will have just the trash picked up on Saturday. The village requests that no one puts their recycling bins on the curb this week.

All services will resume according to the regular schedule on Mon., Feb. 4.
