Verizon Wireless Theft, Cab Fare Ditcher In Arlington Heights

The Arlington Heights Police Department is investigating several theft incidents reported during the last week.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Arlington Heights Police Department responded to the following reports in recent days:

Theft

Between 2 p.m. and 2:20 p.m. Sunday, June 2, authorities received a report of three unknown offenders concealing and taking merchandise from the Verizon Wireless located in the 300 block of E. Palatine Road. According to police, the first suspect is described as a black female dressed in a red outfit. The second suspect is described as a black female with brown hair and brown eyes, 5'3' and 200 pounds, with a "large, stocky" build, according to police. The third suspect was described to police as a black male with black hair and brown eyes, 5'6' and 250 pounds, also with a "large, stocky" build. The total retail value of the merchandise was $100, according to police.

Authorities received a report of an unknown offender or offenders removing a locked cash box from a secure office at a business located in the 700 block of W. Central Road (Manor Care) between 12 p.m. Thursday, May 30 and 3:45 p.m. Friday, May 31. The cash box contained approximately $216.

Theft of service

Authorities received a report of an unknown offender running out of a cab without paying the fare at 8:33 a.m. Saturday, June 1. The offender is described as a black and Hispanic female, 25 years old, 5’4' and 130 pounds, with short dark brown hair, and wearing a gray track suit. The suspect was last seen on foot in the Red Roof Inn parking lot in the 0-100 block of W. Algonquin Road.

Police said vehicle burglaries and thefts are preventable; lock your cars, take your keys and remove all valuables. "Follow the #9pmroutine."
