Veterans Day 2017: What's Open, Closed In Arlington Heights

Find out how the holiday will affect village agencies, institutions and services Friday.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — This year, Veterans Day is officially Saturday, Nov. 11, and while events honoring U.S. military men and women will be held this weekend, many institutions around Arlington Heights will observe the holiday Friday.

Here's a look at how some places and services in the village will be handling Veterans Day:

Schools: District 15, District 25, District 59 and District 211 and District 214 schools will have classes.

Village Government: Village Hall and village offices will be closed. County, state and federal government offices will be closed, too.

Arlington Heights Memorial Library: The library will have normal Friday hours.

Postal Service: No mail delivery, and all post offices will be closed.

Banks: Most financial institutions will be closed. Call ahead to be sure.

Retailers, Restaurants, Bars and Other Businesses: Most will be open, but check hours ahead of time.
