Watch 'Star Trek II' With William Shatner In Rosemont

The original Capt. Kirk will be on hand for a live screening of "Wrath of Khan" in September. Find out when tickets go on sale.

ROSEMONT, IL — Ever wanted to see Capt. Kirk in person? No, not Chris Pine. The man who originated the role of James Tiberius, William Shatner.

Fans of "Star Trek" — not to mention "T.J. Hooker," "Rescue 911," "Tek Wars" and "Incubus" — will get that chance in September as the 87-year-old actor will be on hand for a screening of 1982's "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" at the Rosemont Theatre. Following the movie, Shatner will share anecdotes from his Starfleet days, as well as other, non-"Star Trek" highlights in his more than 50 years in showbiz. He also will take part in a Q&A session with fans after the screening.

The live screening will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Rosemont, 5400 N. River Road. Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, May 25, at Ticketmaster. Presale for Rosemont Theatre donors/subscribers and Shatner fan club members continue until 10 p.m. Thursday, May 24.

A limited number of VIP tickets also will be available. That package includes "premium seating and a photo opportunity with Mr. Shatner," the theater said in its announcement of the event.

A final warning if you do plan on attending this event: Try not to overwhelm Shatner with too many screams of "Khaaaaaan!" His appearance is part of a multi-city tour that starts in June, so he probably will have heard his fill of fans shouting his emphatic line-reading from "Star Trek II."
