2 Dead in Aurora Bar Shooting

Police said the shooting does not appear to be a random act

Two men were killed and another man was wounded early Friday morning in Aurora, according to a department press release.

On Friday, just before 1 a.m., Aurora police received a report of a shooting outside a restaurant/bar in the 700 block of South Lincoln Ave. They found three shooting victims at the scene.

Jermaine P. Taylor, 35, and Alselmo V. Fernandez, 57, were brought to the hospital and pronounced dead. A third 37-year-old Aurora man was treated for a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening.

Police said the two assailants reportedly committed the shooting on foot.

"The duo were initially described as a medium-to- large-build male Hispanic and another thin-build male black or Hispanic," according to the press release.

The two men appeared to be 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall and were wearing dark clothing, according to police. They were last seen running from the scene, but police have not ruled out the possibility that they were picked up in a vehicle.

Police said the shooting does not appear to be a random act, and "at least one of the victims appears to have been targeted and has had several contacts with police."
