American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure Sept. 25 in Aurora

Edward-Elmhurst Health is a sponsor and Kimberley Darey, MD, Vice President/Chief Medical Officer, Elmhurst Hospital, is Chair of the American Diabetes Association’s® (ADA) 2022 Chicagoland Tour de Cure® on Sunday, Sept. 25 at RiverEdge Park in Aurora. The event is being held in support of more than 37 million Americans living with diabetes.
The 2022 Tour de Cure features cycling routes through some of Chicago’s western suburbs’ most scenic locations. Cyclists can choose from a 12-mile, 30-mile, 63-mile or 100-mile route. For details, visit diabetes.org/chicagotour.
“It’s not only an honor to serve as the 2022 Chicago Tour de Cure Chair, but also my duty as a physician and health care professional to increase awareness of a disease with complications that can have serious impact on people’s lives,” says Dr. Darey. “Edward-Elmhurst Health and the Illinois Chapter of the American Diabetes Association are working together to impress upon our residents the importance of taking control of their health to manage or avoid diabetes.”

The ADA’s Tour de Cure provides an opportunity to connect to the community and raise funds that fuel every aspect of crucial work to support research, advocacy, and education. The nationwide movement promotes diabetes awareness, healthy living and fundraising for those living with diabetes.
