Aurora Man Accused Of Abusing, Injuring Two Children

Police allege he told one child to hit the other for vomiting, then burned their hands under hot water when they refused.

AURORA, IL — A 31-year-old Aurora man is facing a slew of charges after police alleged he seriously injured two children.

Ross Hunt, of the 2000 block of West Illinois Avenue, was recently arrested and charged with three felony counts of aggravated battery including bodily harm to a victim under 13, according to police. He also faces two misdemeanor counts each of domestic battery with bodily harm, domestic battery with physical contact, and endangering a child, police said.

Aurora police allege Hunt abused the young children on multiple occasions, including one incident in which he beat and injured one child for vomiting while the other child watched.

Police also allege Hunt told one child to hit the other for vomiting, then burned their hands under hot water when they refused.

The Aurora Police Department said it conducted an extensive investigation into Hunt after receiving a tip from the Department of Children and Family Services.
