Aurora Man Claims He Was Shot After Refusing To Give Up His Air Jordans

The man, who is on probation, told officers several versions of the event, according to police

An Aurora man on probation claimed that he was shot in the upper leg on Sunday evening when he refused to give up his Air Jordans, according to police spokesman Dan Ferrelli.

The 22-year-old said he was approached by two masked black men in an alley on the 100 block of Blackhawk Street on Sunday around 10 p.m. He said one of the men had a gun and shot him in the upper leg after he refused to hand over his Air Jordans. The man said the two assailants then ran off.

The shooting was not reported until the next day when the wounded man's probation officer asked him why he was limping. The probation officer took the man to the hospital, where he was treated for a minor wound.
