Aurora Officers Get Scruffy For 'No Shave November'

For an entire month, Aurora cops will break uniform code for a worthy cause.

AURORA, IL — If you find yourself interacting with a particularly hairy cop this month, know that it is for a good cause. The Aurora Police Department is participating in its second annual No Shave November fundraiser. If an officer gives $50, he'll be allowed to forego the strict uniform guidelines and grow his facial hair for the entire month. Aurora Police Spokesman Dan Ferrelli says a couple female officers participated last year by sporting fake mustaches for a group picture at the end of the month.

Last year's inaugural No Shave November drew in over 160 participants. In March of 2016, a brother and friend, Sgt. Don Corp, passed away from pancreatic cancer. All of the money raised will be given to the Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. If you would like to donate, visit the Credit Union inside the Aurora Police Department at 1200 E. Indian Trail, or donate here.
