After winning a "Best Water in the County" award, Aurora has moved on to win the top state competition for best water in Illinois.

AURORA, IL — Not only does Aurora have the best water in Kane County, but it now also has the best water in the state.

Aurora competed against Park Forest, Rockford and Champaign County, reigning as the winner of the 2022 Best Water in Illinois Award from the American Water Works Association.

To celebrate the first time clinching the title since 2009, Mayor Richard Irvin presented MVP awards to the Water Production Division Tuesday before leading the group in a celebratory toast with Aurora-branded water bottles.
