Burglary Boys Caught Stealing Packages From Post Office: Cops

The 13-year-old and 14-year-old are facing felony charges.

AURORA, IL — Two boys, ages 13 and 14, were charged with burglary, a felony, and misdemeanor theft, Aurora police said. The teens are accused of stealing items from several packages left in mailboxes at the Hometown Post Office the evening of Dec. 4.

A statement from Aurora police on Facebook said several more packages were opened but the contents were left behind intact.

The pair were also charged with another burglary and criminal damage to state-supported property. They stole $5 worth of ice cream from Phillips Park Golf Course Pro Shop and caused $1,000 in damage to the shop's door. In both cases, they were caught on video, police said. An officer recognized the duo after viewing the surveillance video.
