College Credits: Aurora Students Graduate, Others Make Dean's Lists

Aurora student recognized as chancellor’s scholar-athlete

Nicole Dawson, a Biology major from Aurora, IL, and member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team, was one of 47 Warhawks who were recognized as 2023-24 Chancellor's Scholar-Athletes presented by Northwestern Mutual.

Dawson was recognized in a ceremony Monday at the James R. Connor University Center by Chancellor Corey A. King and Director of Athletics Ryan Callahan.

To be recognized as Scholar-Athletes, student-athletes must have maintained a 3.25 cumulative grade point average or above through the end of the 2023 fall semester. Honorees must have participated in a varsity sport for two years, must be of senior academic status and must have accumulated at least 90 degree credits.

Aurora students named to Belmont University dean’s list

Belmont University recently released the Dean's List for the spring 2024 semester. Approximately 44 percent of the university's 7,338 undergraduate students qualified for the spring 2024 Dean's List.

The following students from Aurora qualified:

Local student named to president’s list at Bob Jones University

Zachary Weiss, a Senior Engineering major from Aurora, was among over 600 Bob Jones University students named to the Spring 2024 President's List.

The President's List recognizes students who earn a 3.75 or higher grade point average for the semester.

University of the Cumberlands announces Class of 2024

Everyone at the University of the Cumberlands wishes heartfelt congratulations to all graduates in the Class of 2024!

The following people from your area received a degree in Fall 2023 or Spring 2023, or are set to complete their degree in Summer 2024 (and were thus eligible to walk at Cumberlands' commencement ceremonies):

Just under 6,000 students make up this year's graduating class. Approximately 170 graduates completed an associate degree, 1,250 finished a bachelor's degree, 3,770 received a master's degree, 270 completed an educational specialist degree, and 530 earned a doctoral degree. Graduates represented many different ages, ethnicities, backgrounds, and cultures, but they all now have one thing in common: they made it!

Jada Maldonado, from Aurora, IL, who recently graduated with a B.S. in communication sciences and disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, was recognized in the university's Hired Before Graduation campaign.
