Kane County Deputy In Serious Condition After Aurora Crash: Sheriff
The crash happened Wednesday morning at the intersection of East New York Street and North Union Street in Aurora.
AURORA, IL — A Kane County sheriff's deputy is in serious condition after a crash Tuesday morning in Aurora, according to the agency.
Undersheriff Amy Johnson told Patch an incident at the intersection of East New York Street and North Union Street involved an on-duty deputy in a squad car. Occupants of the second car involved are also listed in the same condition, she said.
Johnson said she cannot provide additional details as the investigation by the Aurora Police Department remains ongoing.

Asked for details, Aurora police said the incident involved a Kane County sheriff's vehicle and directed Patch to the department for more information.
The intersection of East New York Street and North Union Street in Aurora shut down as a result of the crash. In an alert published at 10:36 a.m. on Facebook, police said officers are working to reopen the lanes "as soon as possible," but until then, drivers are asked to use alternate routes as traffic is delayed.
