Drive-Thru Vax Clinic Coming To West Aurora D129 School

Nurses at the upcoming clinic will focus on administering COVID-19 vaccines to children ages 5 to 11.

AURORA, IL — A drive-thru COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be coming to a West Aurora School District 129 building Jan. 18. Focus at the clinic, though open to everyone, will be on administering vaccines to children ages 5 to 11.

"Did you know that 5 to 11-year-olds are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine?" district officials wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday. "Or, that children who are ages 5 to 17 years and completed the primary series of COVID-19 vaccines do not have to quarantine if identified as a close contact?"

The clinic, taking place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hope D. Wall School, 449 W. New Indian Trail Court, will be held in conjunction with the Visiting Nurses Association of Aurora. Third and booster doses of the Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer vaccines will also be availalble.

The event will not disrupt students' learning as Jan. 18 is a non-attendance day for kids.
