East Aurora District 131 Pushes Back School Year's Start
The district's new school year is now set to start Aug. 31 with remote learning for all students until at least Nov. 4.
AURORA, IL — Students in East Aurora School District 131 will have an extra week of summer this year after the district’s board voted Monday to delay the start of the new school year. District officials asked the board for additional time to prepare for remote instruction.
District 131’s academic year will start Aug. 31 with remote learning for all students, officials recently announced. The district will use remote instruction for the first quarter of the year, with Nov. 4 the earliest students could return to classrooms.
East Aurora’s 2020-21 school year is scheduled to end with a half-day on June 4, officials said.
