AURORA, IL — A Shabbona couple welcomed the first baby born at Ascension Mercy in Aurora in 2023.

Dayley Jackson was born to parents Ariana and James Jackson at 10:49 a.m. Jan. 3. The girl, measuring 20.5 inches, weighed 9 pounds and 3 ounces.

The hospital did not have any births on New Year's Day this year.
