Health Care Workers Get Coronavirus Vaccines At Kane Co. Clinics

More than 1,500 health care workers in Kane County are set to receive coronavirus vaccines this week, health officials said Wednesday.

KANE COUNTY, IL — More than 1,500 health care workers in Kane County started the new year by receiving a vaccine against the coronavirus.

The Kane County Health Department said Wednesday it expected to administer about 10 percent of its 15,740 vaccine doses this week to health care workers with the highest risk of contracting the virus.

Phase 1a of the coronavirus-vaccine rollout prioritizes healthcare workers and other employees in those facilities who have an increased risk of exposure. Health department officials contacted eligible health care workers, who were expected to get their vaccines at clinics in Kane County this week.
