Large Police Presence In Downtown Aurora Caused By Training Exercises

Special response teams from the Aurora and Naperville police departments are conducting training exercises Wednesday in downtown Aurora.

AURORA, IL — Aurora and Naperville police are conducting training exercises Wednesday in downtown Aurora.

In an alert Wednesday morning, Aurora police said the special response teams from both departments will be training until 6 p.m., Locals should expect large police presence and vehicles in the area for the majority of the day, officials said.

To make room for the exercises, Benton Street between River Street and Stolp Avenue closed at 9 a.m. and will reopen at 1 p.m. Training is taking place at 18 W. Benton St. and at 15 S. Broadway.
