Motorcyclist Faces Life-Threatening Injuries After Crash On Eola Road: Aurora Police

The rider crashed in a work zone, possibly with a construction vehicle, police said.

AURORA, IL — A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after a crash early Friday morning in a construction zone, according to Aurora police.

The biker was driving southbound through a construction zone near the intersection of South Eola Road and Weber Drive when it crashed, possibly with a construction vehicle, Aurora Police Department spokesperson Jim Levicki told Patch.

Police and fire personnel were dispatched at 1:51 a.m. to the intersection and transported the motorcyclist to an area hospital.

Emergency Management and traffic control units were called to the scene to help with road closures and management. Both north- and southbound lanes of Eola Road were shut down between New York Street and Liberty Street. The road did not fully reopen until about 1 p.m. Friday, according to a Facebook post from APD.
