Ribbon Cut On New Aurora Senior Living Community: See Photos
The community in Aurora's ninth ward is national homebuilder Del Webb's first Chicagoland community in more than 15 years, officials said.

AURORA, IL — Continuing its "residential renaissance," as Aurora officials put it, the city celebrated its newest senior living community in Ward 9 Wednesday.
The gated community of Lincoln Prairie will include 169 low-maintenance ranch homes for adults ages 55 and older. The six styles of two- to three-bedroom homes range from 1,502 to 2,754 square feet. Wednesday's ceremony celebrated the debut of six model homes available for tours as part of the project's first phase.
The houses have features meant to "enhance convenience and comfort." They include large kitchen islands, tall glass doors to maximize natural light, spacious owner's suites with spa-like bathrooms, and ample storage space, said Clayton Muhammad, the city's chief communications officer.

The grounds of Lincoln Prairie will also house an 18,000-square-foot clubhouse with meeting spaces, billiard rooms, locker rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, and outdoor recreation areas with tennis and pickleball courts.
National homebuilder Del Webb Pulte Homes is overseeing the project, which is the firm's first in the Chicagoland area in more than 15 years, according to Muhammad.
