Student With Cerebral Palsy Gets Epic Wheelchair Makeover

AURORA, IL — Hope D. Wall School student Roberto received a special gift in time for Halloween. The 15-year-old has cerebral palsy, which requires him to be in a wheelchair, but that didn't stop him from having the coolest costume on the block. Last week, Community Policing Officer Jason Woolsey was introduced to the boy, who wanted to transform his chair into a SWAT vehicle for Halloween. Woosley teamed up with Chris Weithers, a volunteer in Naperville who works with Magic Wheelchair. Magic Wheelchair is an organization that specializes in making epic costumes for kids in wheelchairs. Roberto's was a replica of the APD Special Response Team armored Bear Cat with working lights. He debuted his new ride at Hope D. Wall's Halloween Party, according to a release from the Aurora Police Department.
