Twins Are First Babies Born In 2024 At Rush Copley In Aurora

A Yorkville couple rang in the new year by welcoming their first children: twins Oaklyn and Makenna born on New Year's Day.

AURORA, IL — A Yorkville couple rang in the new year by becoming first-time parents to their twin daughters, Makenna and Oaklyn.

The set of fraternal twins were the first babies to be welcomed in 2024 at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora.

Makenna Marie and Oaklyn Shields were born to parents Meganne and Colton Jundt.

Oaklyn was born first. The baby girl arrived at 1:52 a.m. weighing 4 pounds and 7 ounces. Makenna came less than an hour later, at 2:39 a.m., weighing 5 pounds and 3 ounces.
