Work Underway For Aurora's 1st Ground-Up Development In 20 Years
The new East Bank Apartment Community is expected to bring more than 250 apartments to the east bank of the Fox River.
AURORA, IL — Construction has begun on Aurora's first ground-up development in 20 years, city officials said.
The $90 million project is underway at 100 N. Broadway. Known as the East Bank Apartment Community, the affordable housing complex will be bring 258 apartments to downtown Aurora.
The property will also feature 314 parking spaces and more than 27,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity space, according to data company BLDUP.

Amenities will include an outdoor atrium, with trails and green space traveling down to the Fox River. The property will house a resort-style pool, fitness center and outdoor seating as well, BLDUP said.
The city approved the final plan for the development in May 2022.
