DAR Donates Pollinator Seed Packets to Barrington Area Library
The local chapter, Signal Hill NSDAR, donated thousands of pollinator seed packets for distribution at the January 29th library event.

When the Barrington Area Library opened its Seed Library on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, residents found thousands of pollinator seed packets thanks to a donation from the Signal Hill Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. The DAR chapter donated seeds for varieties of native plants. These native seeds were made available along with other seed varieties for flowers, vegetables, herbs, and more.
Adult Services Librarian Liz Kirchhoff expressed the library’s gratitude for the donation noting that the native seeds are in high demand in the community.
Signal Hill Chapter Conservation Chair Jennifer Lucas believes this seed donation is important because it allows people across the community to beautify their yards and provides vital habitat for native wildlife, birds, and insects.
