UPDATE! Wreaths Across America Event at Evergreen Cemetery Date Changed to Monday, Dec. 15th.

Wreaths Across America wreath laying event moved to Monday, December 15th, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. due to dangerous winter weather.

The Signal Hill NSDAR chapter of Barrington has been monitoring the upcoming weekend weather, and has determined that for health and safety reasons, the Wreaths Across America Day at Evergreen Cemetery, scheduled for Saturday, December 13th, must be postponed.

The chapter is rescheduling for December 15th, the following Monday. Changes to the event must be made, so there will be no memorial service, and due to the amount of snow on the ground, an alternate wreath laying process will be instituted. Those wishing to assist in honoring Veterans interred at Evergreen are asked to stop by from 12:00 noon to 2:00p.m. on the 15th, where wreaths will be placed along the main Monument Drive on either side of the pavement. Before placement along the drive, a DAR Daughter will read the name of a Veteran in that section. That way, all Veterans will still be honored, just not at individual gravesites.

If you are able to drop by for ten minutes or two hours, your participation will be greatly appreciated. We thank everyone for their understanding and prior years of commitment.
