Batavia Man Caught Disseminating Child Pornography On Messaging App: Police
The Batavia man was using the messaging app Kik to disseminate child sexual abuse material, police said.

BATAVIA, IL — A Batavia man is facing charges after he was caught disseminating child pornography on a messaging app, police said.
The Chicago Police Department notified the Batavia Police Department Nov. 28 of a possible child sexual abuse material offender, later identified as the 27-year-old Enrique L. Gonzalez, residing in its jurisdiction.
Chicago investigators told Batavia police that one of its investigators was assigned to a National Center for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTip in which someone was caught using the messaging app Kik to disseminate child sexual abuse material, according to a news release.

An investigation determined the Kik account belonged to Gonzalez, officials said.
Police acquired a search warrant for Gonzalez's phone, vehicle and residence in the 0-99 block of Spuhler Drive. Authorities said the warrant led investigators to further evidence of Gonzalez's crimes.

Batavia police charged Gonzalez, of the 0-99 block of Spuhler Drive, with nine counts of dissemination of moving depiction involving a victim under 13, nine counts of possession of moving depiction involving a victim under 13, and two counts of possession of child pornography image.
The man is due to appear in court on Jan. 21.
