Car Crashes Into Batavia House, Driver Charged With DUI: Police

The driver, of Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after striking a house in the 300 block of Pine Street.

BATAVIA, IL — A 22-year-old Aurora man was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after he crashed into a Batavia house early Monday morning, police said.

Batavia officers were dispatched at 4:09 a.m. to the intersection of Pine and Prairie streets where they found a 2023 Hyundai Elantra in the front yard of a residence in the 300 block of Pine Street.

During the investigation, police learned Dylan Roman didn't stop at a stop sign at the nearby intersection and failed to navigate a turn at the T-intersection, subsequently hitting the house, according to a Tuesday news release.

Roman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. None of the house's occupants were injured in the crash.
