Illinois' Largest Movie Screen At Batavia Theater Debuts Next Week
The 414-seat Super EMX Auditorium, which features a screen the size of an NBA court flipped on its side, opens for business on July 11.

BATAVIA, IL — A 414-seat auditorium-style movie theater boasting the largest screen in Illinois will make its debut next week in Batavia, when the Emagine Theater’s Super EMX Auditorium opens to the public.
The auditorium features the state’s largest Cinemascope movie screen which measures 96 feet wide and 53 feet tall and is the size of an NBA baseball court flipped on its side. The Super EMX Auditorium was still under construction when the Emagine Batavia Theater opened at the end of May.
Emagine’s Super EMX will be a spectacular theater in which to enjoy Hollywood’s “tent pole” films, the theater announced in a news release. The 4K laser-projected image will be paired with a Dolby Atmos immersive sound system with 70 channels of sound to create the most remarkable moviegoing experience in the marketplace.
