New Beer Fest Pints By The Pond Coming To Batavia In September

More than a dozen breweries from around the Chicagoland area are expected to participate in the Batavia Park District-hosted event.

BATAVIA, IL — More than a dozen breweries, specializing in craft beer, cider and seltzer, are slated to take part in Pints by the Pond, a new beer festival coming to Batavia in September.

The Batavia Park District is hosting the event, which they're calling a "new fall tradition," from 2-5 p.m. Sept. 24 at Peg Bond Center, 151 N. Island Ave.

Breweries expected to attend the inaugural event include the following.

Besides brews, guests will hear live music and be able to grab bites to eat from food trucks.

At the event, the Batavia Parks Foundation will also award the 10 winners of its Play It Forward fundraiser, which enables the lights and letters of the Peace Bridge to remain on year-round.

Tickets, which cost $45 in advance and $55 the day of, cover 20 3-ounce beer samples and a commemorative beer glass, organizers said. Designated drivers can purchase a ticket for $10, which includes unlimited water and soda.

VIP tickets are also available for $60. This also includes one-hour early entry and will be sold only while supplies last.

If the outdoor event gets rained out, it will move inside at the Batavia Civic Center, 327 W. Wilson St.
