Outdoor Learning Facility In Works As Park District Breaks Ground
The new Fox Valley Park District facility in Batavia, meant to expand learning opportunities, is expected to be complete later this year.

BATAVIA, IL — Construction on an outdoor education and event facility in Batavia is officially underway. The Fox Valley Park District held a celebratory groundbreaking for the space at Lippold Park Friday.
A project costing $2.35 million, the facility will expand educational opportunities for pre-schoolers, campers and scout groups, park district officials announced. The public will also have the opportunity to rent out the space for weddings, company picnics and other events.
The 4,500-square-foot facility will be located adjacent to Red Oak Nature Center at 2343 S. River St. It's set to be completed later this year, officials said in a post on Facebook.
