Schielke Projected To Win Batavia Mayor Race: 2025 Election Results

BATAVIA, IL — Longtime Mayor Jeffery Schielke is poised to keep his seat in Batavia, according to unofficial voting results.

Thomas Connelly, an attorney, challenged Schielke, who has been in office since 1981, in Tuesday's consolidated election but came up short. The incumbent is considered one of the longest-serving mayors in Illinois history.

An attorney, Connelly previously served as an alderperson in Ward 4 and currently serves on the Batavia Historic Preservation Commission. Schielke sought his 12th term in office.

Here's a look at unofficial tallies from the Kane County Clerk's Office, with all 22 precincts reporting:

  • Tom Connelly: 46.68 percent (2,294 votes)
  • Jeffery Schielke: 53.32 percent (2,620 votes)

The clerk's office reported a turnout of 25.78 percent, with a total of 5,018 ballots cast.
