Semi Strikes Pedestrian At Kirk Road, Wilson Street: Batavia PD

BATAVIA, IL — A semi-tractor trailer struck a pedestrian Tuesday evening at the intersection of Kirk Road and East Wilson Street, Batavia police said.

The pedestrian was conscious when officers arrived at the intersection around 5:30 p.m. The person was taken to a local hospital and was in stable condition as of Tuesday night, police said.

The Kane County Accident Reconstruction team was called to the scene due to the seriousness of the pedestrian's injuries. The driver of the semi cooperated with the investigation, which shut down parts of the intersection until about 8:40 p.m.

No citations have been issued so far, pending further investigation, police said.

As the investigation continues, police said they cannot provide additional information.
