Truck Driver Cited For Early February Crash With Pedestrian: BPD
A pedestrian was hospitalized after a crash on Feb. 4 at the intersection of North Kirk Road and East Wilson Street.

BATAVIA, IL — The driver of a semi-tractor trailer was issued two citations after he struck a pedestrian Feb. 4 at the intersection of North Kirk Road and East Wilson Street, Batavia police said.
The driver, 37-year-old Yoan Castillo, was cited with failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and no valid registration. Police said the man, of Carpentersville, struck a 60-year-old woman while she crossed the street as indicated by the illuminated pedestrian signal.
The traffic light was green when Castillo began making a right turn from Wilson Street onto Kirk Road, police said.

The pedestrian was conscious when officers arrived at the intersection around 5:30 p.m. that Tuesday.

The investigation into the crash has concluded, police said Wednesday evening.
