Woman Attacked Outside Home on New Year's Morning

A woman returning to her apartment in the 1000 block of Lorlyn Circle just before 5 a.m. on New Year’s Day was assaulted by a man who encountered her in the lobby and followed her to her front door, according to Batavia police.

The woman told police the man began a conversation, followed and attacked her, and she fought him off, police said. Officers responded to the building and searched the area but did not find the man. He was described as black, clean-shaven, 35 to 40 years old, and wore a dark-colored coat and dark pants.
