CHICAGO — The 19th Ward Office and Original Pancake House - Beverly will team to deliver 100 free, pre-packaged pancake meals to senior citizens in Beverly, Mount Greenwood and Morgan Park the morning of Monday, March 23 as a way to help those affected most by the coronavirus public health crisis.
Meal requests were taken on a first come, first served basis to seniors age 65 and older living in the 19th Ward boundaries, according to a community-wide email from 19th Ward Ald. Matt O'Shea. Residents of senior living facilities were not eligible at this time, however.
O'Shea said Thursday morning that the giveaway reached its capacity within hours after "overwhelming demand."
