Public's Help Sought In ID'ing Driver Involved In Deadly Morgan Park Hit And Run: Police
A Jeep Grand Cherokee said to have fatally struck two pedestrians on Marshfield early Sunday morning has been recovered, Chicago police say.

CHICAGO — Chicago police are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning in Morgan Park that left two pedestrians dead.
The crash happened about 1:15 a.m. in the 11700 block of South Marshfield Avenue. Officers responded to an EMS call, where they discovered a 30-year-old man and another man lying unresponsive in the street, about 100 feet apart. A license plate was found near one of the victims, according to news reports.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. CPD said there was “no apparent trauma to the bodies” discovered at the crash scene. Autopsy reports from the Cook County Medical Examiner are pending. The men’s names have not been released, but both are believed to be 30 and 39 years old.

Police issued a community alert on Monday with a description of a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee with an Illinois plate “FR 19482.” The vehicle has since been recovered.
A homicide investigation is underway. Anyone with information about the vehicle and crash are asked to call the Area 2 Major Accident Investigation Unit at (312) 745-4521 or submit an anonymous tip at CPDTIP.com and use reference # JJ530479.
