3 Teens Shot in Front of High School on South Washtenaw

Shooting took place before 1 p.m. in front of Camelot Excel High School.

A shooting shortly before 1 p.m. in front of a high school on the Southwest Side left three teen-agers injured Friday, according to Chicago police.

All three were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. A 17-year-old boy, shot in the torso, is in critical condition, reports DNAinfo Chicago, while a 17-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy suffered graze wounds.

Camelot Excel Southwest High School is at 7014 S. Washtenaw Ave. The Chicago Tribune reports that the three ran into the high school when the shots were fired. It’s not known if they are students there.

On Thursday, a 14-year-old Baker College Prep student was shot in the chest outside Baker and Bowen High School in South Chicago.
