CHICAGO (MORGAN PARK) — A seventh grader at Morgan Park Academy is one of just a few dozen students worldwide to have been chosen for recognition in an international essay contest with a theme of peace and humanity.
Najja King, a Flossmoor resident, was one of 33 students chosen for prizes or an honorable mention in the essay contest held annually by the Goi Peace Foundation, a Tokyo-based non-governmental organization and UNESCO.
More than 7,000 students from around the world submitted essays in the 7-13 age group that King fits.
