Actor, Beverly Native George Wendt Hospitalized
The veteran actor and local icon was forced to drop out of a Chicago production of "The Odd Couple."
One of Beverly's most beloved sons, actor George Wendt, was forced to drop out of a local production after suffering from chest pains, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Wendt, 64, who came to fame as Norm on the sitcom "Cheers" was set to star in a Northlight Theater production of "The Odd Couple," the report says. He has been forced to drop out of the play as he seeks medical treatment after suffering chest pains.
Wendt is expected to make a full recovery, according to a statement released to the Sun-Times.
