Driver Of Van Argued With A Man, Then Ran Him Over In Deadly Hit-And-Run: Police

The driver was seen arguing with the man before getting into a tan van and running him over, Chicago police said.

CHICAGO — 22nd District Morgan Park police are looking the driver of a tan van believed involved in a deadly hit-and-run last week in Morgan Park.

Around 4:50 p.m. Nov. 17, in the 11700 block of Marshfield Avenue, the driver of the van was arguing with a man prior to the crash, police said.

The man crossed in front of the van to return to their vehicle parked nearby, when police said the driver of the van drove forward, striking him.

Police said the man became trapped under the van and was dragged for a distance, until the van ran over the man with the front and rear tires. The van fled the parking lot, leaving the man laying on the ground. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The vehicle is a tan and/or white van with probable damage on the front grill. Police believe the van was taken in for repairs soon after the crash.
