Early Morning Carjacking Reported At 99th And Hamilton

Three suspects fled with a victim's car eastbound on 99th Street Monday morning.

CHICAGO — A man standing next to his car on 99th and Hamilton Monday morning was carjacked at gunpoint, police in Chicago's 22nd District said. Descriptions of three suspects have been released, but as of Tuesday afternoon no one has been charged in connection with the crime.

Chicago police said a small, dark blue SUV pulled up to the victim around 6:30 a.m. on April 13. Two of three men in the SUV got out of the SUV, went up to the victim. One pointed a gun at him while the other stole his cell phone, car keys and his car, police said.

Both the victim's car and the SUV fled the scene eastbound on 99th Street.

Police said all three suspects are African-American men appearing to be between 18 and 25 years old. They are all approximately 5 foot, 8 inches and weighing 180 points, the description stated. They were wearing hooded sweatshirts and blue jeans at the time of the carjacking, police said.
