Lawyers for Patrick Kane's Accuser Plan to Talk to News Media Wednesday
A press conference is scheduled for noon Chicago time.

The leaks and rumors around the Patrick Kane rape investigation and his accuser are rampant. The woman’s attorneys have schedule a Wednesday press conference to address them, reports NBC Buffalo. The press conference is scheduled for noon Chicago time.
Last Thursday, the hockey star appeared at his own press conference and spoke to the press for the first time, saying he was certain he would be “absolved.” He apologized to fans and teammates for the “distraction.”
Fans cheered him on Friday when he took to the ice. “Pretty cool reaction especially given the circumstances,” he told reporters.

Tuesday night, Kane played in the Chicago Blackhawks preseason opener and fans cheered him heartily again. Kane even flipped a puck into the crowd before the game, as he always does.
“Fans have always been great here, but especially the last week, or whatever it’s been, the support has been great. That’s kind of what you come to expect from Chicago fans, in a good way. So it’s exciting,” he told the Chicago Sun-Times.

Over the weekend, The Buffalo News, citing four sources, reported that forensic tests show that Kane’s DNA was found under his accuser’s fingernails and on her shoulder, where she was bitten, but his DNA was not found on her genitals nor in her undergarments.
In August, the woman told police Kane assaulted her after he brought her to his home. The two met at a Buffalo-area bar. Legal experts say the absence of DNA evidence in the genital area does not mean an assault did not take place.
Last week, the Chicago Tribune reported that Kane’s attorneys and his accuser’s legal representatives were negotiating a settlement, but Kane’s lawyer, Paul Cambria, said the report was false.
