LOCAL JOBS: New Menards and Culver's Staffing Up, Chicago Summer Interns

Culver's 

The newest location of the hamburger chain might still be under construction, but a big ol' 'Help Wanted' sign is standing in front. Culver's, 9505 S. Kedzie Ave., is accepting applications for all variety of restaurant workers. To apply, visit the company's website and make sure you select Evergreen Park as your desired location.  

Summer Student Interns - Chicago

If you know a college age kid who lives in the city and is looking for a great summer gig, the City of Chicago's internship and volunteer page is a gold mine. Positions in a variety of fields from social media to finance are up for grabs. Most are unpaid. Lengthier descriptions of each position on the site. 

Menards 

The hardware superstore will start accepting applications on March 13 at 9 a.m. You can apply in person. Store officials are expecting upwards of 15,000 people to apply for jobs at the store located at 93rd Street and Western Avenue. If the mayor gets his way, many of those hired will be locals. 

Lottery Office Associate

The Illinois Department of Lottery is looking for a full-time office assistant. A variety of clerical duties will fill your day and a typing speed of 45 words per minute is required. Applicants are encouraged to apply via Work.Illinois.Gov and select “application procedures.” A pdf of the full position is located to the right. 

Salvation Army Kroc Center

The Ray and Joan Kroc Center, 1250 W. 119th Street, has a variety of job openings. Positions include lifeguards, gym aids, exercise instructor and a sports and fitness director. Visit their site for more information on open positions and to apply.
